REAL men love Quilted Hearts! As I was strolling around Yachats I spied a flower I thought I’d pick for my wife, on a big bush just west of Bread & Roses Bakery. (I have poor eyesight– haha!) Upon closer inspection, I realized what I had mistaken for a flower was actually a beautiful quilted heart ornament on a ribbon hanger, well camouflaged among the actual flowers. I knew it was just the touch of pure romance our marriage of 17 years needed, so I took it and gave it to my one-and-only eternal sweetheart, who was resting in our motel room when I found it. We were staying in the nearby Drift Inn, and she hung it in the window which faced the Main Street for all passersby to enjoy gazing upon. We heard at least 50 people ooh and aah from the sidewalk, commenting on how cute it was, wondering whether it was for sale, as there was a store nearby and they thought they might be able to buy it there, thinking our window was part of the store’s merchandise display! LOL. No chance. It’s a one-of-a-kind fun find! Thank you, IFAQH, for adding so much creativity and magical whimsy to our romantic getaway to the Gem of the Oregon Coast! The heart found ME; I didn’t find the heart. “A merry HEART doeth good like a medicine!” Proverbs 17:22. (I’m an impoverished Baptist Pastor, so Thank You Very Much!)
