This was years ago now, and I can’t recall if I reported it the first time, so forgive me if this is a duplicate discovery report, but I found this lovely little quilted heart on Main Street, on a tree! I can’t recall precisely what I was doing, but it was likely getting lunch or dinner with family. Usually, when I see an object with no clear owner out “in the wild”, so to speak, I tend to just leave it where it is, since I don’t know if somebody might come looking for it and I figure they’re more likely to find it where they left it than someplace in a total stranger’s house.
Looking closer, though, the tag indicated that this heart was put here for somebody to find, as a gift for a total stranger. So, I decided to keep it, feeling lucky that I was the one who found it, or at least the first one who thought to actually pick it up. As evidenced by this photo (taken the night prior to this writing), I still have it, and it’s in great condition, despite that there are a couple pet hairs on it I didn’t notice until after taking the photo and that I have since brushed off.
It was a really nice little moment, and I do cherish this quilted heart! I love the single wooden button, and the pleasant, earthy colors. I was actually thinking, recently, about maybe making it an accessory of some kind when I go out, since it has that little strap and is a great size for that sort of thing, but I’m currently unsure what exactly to do in that respect, particularly since I’d want it to be placed such that it would be unlikely to sustain damage from being taken out and about. My gratitude and compliments to the quilter! This was a very charming little surprise gift, and it has a loving home with me!
