Early Sunday morning, October 27, I flew from Los Angeles to Boston. As soon as I touched down, I got my rental car and drove straight to Vermont; fulfilling a life-long dream to see the Fall leaves changing in Vermont. I had dreamed about this for years. I drove a little over 2 hours from Boston to White River Junction, Vermont and settled into my hotel room at Hotel Coolidge. By the time I checked in, unpacked and freshened up, it was already dark. There was a light drizzle in the air. I had a light dinner at Tuckerbox and met a couple locals who were sweet and offered some tourist spots I should see. As I walked out of the restaurant I realized I wasn’t tired yet because I was still on West Coast time and decided to enjoy the cold, crisp Vermont air that felt invigorating and cleansing. I strolled around Main Street and peaked inside the quirky store-front windows and as I looked into one store in particular, I can’t remember which one, I noticed from the corner of my eye that something small and pink and cute was dangling from the window sill. I move in closer to inspect and I find the most adorable little heart, carefully sewn and stitched with love and affection waiting for me to take it home. I was feeling a bit lonely traveling alone, but finding the heart at that very moment made me feel better and it confirmed that I was exactly where I needed to be at that very moment. The rest of my trip was wonderful and I took my cute little quilted heart with me home back to LA and it’s my favorite souvenir from the trip. Thank you for the sweet gift.
