I found this on the way back into Virginia from West Virginia, at the Virginia Welcome Center. My brother, mom, and I were returning to Virginia from a trip to my late grandfather’s West Virginia home, where we’d been cleaning things up and looking through the many possessions he’d acquired over the years. We stopped at the Virginia welcome center and rest stop after a tiring day, and my brother and I decided to stretch our legs by walking through some wooded paths near their picnic area. There, on a tree, was the quilted heart! I had never heard of them before, so what a nice surprise, extra special when I think of my grandfather.
