I was super late-night trail running at Garman Nature Preserve and I had just finished. I often take a few photos of the trees and stars, whatever strikes a shape in the dark. I was just about to leave when I turned toward some leaves I wanted to photograph, and though I didn’t see it at first with my own eyes, it was clear in my camera…set back into the foliage. I figured it was some weird land management thing or something until I saw the backside of a heart. NEAT! I was going to leave it until I saw “I need a home!” I thought, “I have one of those you can have. Come with me.” Thank you, kind stranger for the fitting gift you could not have known would be so!
