I was opening the Ophthalmology practice I work for and went out to get the newspaper and saw this beautiful heart tucked in the bushes.
Whoever put it there, you have no idea how much you brightened my day!!!
I have been very depressed lately because I had to put my 4 year old lab down on 2-28-24 due to kidney failure….I never question Gods will but I find myself asking why she was taken so young…SHE is Bella. She brought so much chaotic joy to our lives here. She loved everyone and every animal. She was exceptionally gentle with children. She always comforted me when I cried…She loved to go for car rides, chewing sticks and any kind of water… except bath water!
I wanted her to grow old with us…She lets us know she’s still with us. My husband found his readers on the floor in the bedroom and they were on the end table the night before because he was reading the paper… my other two dogs do not take anything off the tables in their 10 years they have been with us. Tuesday May 7th would have been her 5th birthday. This heart was such a beautiful surprise. It made me smile and I haven’t truly smiled in quite a while. My soul is crushed. But this beautiful heart really made me smile not because I had to but because I felt gladness in my heart… almost like it was a tiny nod from Bella to make me smile.
