I found this heart after my daughter’s doctor’s appointment when we were leaving the hospital. The past couple of years have been really stressful after I was hospitalized with congestive heart failure. Throughout my recovery, I decided to go back to school to earn my BSN so that I can become a cardiac nurse (scheduled to graduate in December). School has been very strenuous, but my mom has been there every step of the way to help watch my 2 daughters while I study and go to school. In March she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, it is treatable and she is having surgery next week. She will have to follow up with daily radiation for 6 weeks once she heals from the surgery. Even though it is treatable, I am terrified of losing her. She is my rock. Finding this quilted heart today reminded me to persevere with resilience and strength. Both in my recovery and for my mom’s recovery. I want to thank the person that made, and I hope they know how much this quilted heart means to me.
