Today we went walking on a part of the Green Circle my daughter had not yet been on. The Green Circle is a 27 mile trail that encircles our city, providing opportunity for outdoor activities in nature, no matter the weather.

Today’s weather was about 32 degrees, gray, and our walk was in between rain storms. We marveled at the ice in the trees – so beautiful! My daughter is almost 15, and despite the icky weather (we didn’t completely beat the rain), she dutifully walked our dogs with me as she has done almost every weekend and many weekdays, most of her life.

We joked about how much we would rather be walking where we were versus where her boyfriend was – in Hawaii. She even was in the middle of sending him a picture of the “beautiful” weather when we found the heart.

It was a beautiful colorful surprise in the midst of the black, white, and gray of Wisconsin spring. Now it graces my car and will live there for awhile to provide even more color to our lives.
