My wife and I have been very sad lately because we had to put our dog to sleep yesterday. She was our baby! Her name was Marley. She loved the outside and sunbathing, she loved people, she was the best cuddler, she was so loving and just the best dog we could have asked for. She was 10 years old so she had gotten arthritis and we believe bone cancer. It was her time but of course we still think about the “What if’s”. Today we did some errands since we were able to be off and just be with each other. We boxed up her food, treats, meds and anything we wouldn’t use for any future pet and brought it to the Humane Society to hopefully help more dogs! One of our last stops was the library. We needed to print out a label to send back some meds we didn’t need anymore. When we were leaving we were on our way home and we new it was going to be hard because it was going to be one of the first times coming home without our baby there. We were getting in the car and I saw this baggie of something on the bush. I asked my wife to see what it was. It was this quilted heart. We both sat there and cried because we took it as a sign from Marley saying she was okay. That she was happy and not in pain anymore. That we could be happy knowing she was okay and watching down on us!
