I organize an annual retreat for needle workers/embroiderers at the St. Francis Retreat & Renewal Center. Every year my friend has an Easter Egg Hunt Thurs – Fri, the finders receive a lovely prize. Last year I had fun finding & helping another find an egg. This year I REALLY needed to find an egg; actually the hunt gives a person a chance to stretch their legs & for me a chance to look at the beautiful surroundings & breath.
The last several weeks have been hard, very hard. Various issues with our home, the least of which is a tree landed on our roof. My boss being let go & my co-worker resigning. My new car having issues and the troubles with my marriage. All of these colliding at once have overwhelmed me and I have struggled with just getting up each morning.
Instead of an egg, I found this BEAUTIFUL purple heart, purple is my FAVORITE color. My newest friend said she had heard something about hearts & looked it up, I didn’t want to take it unless it was okay. I was SO tinkled that we found I could have it. She took the picture & now I am sharing my story, but more importantly, saying THANK YOU to the hearts creator. You have no idea how finding this beautiful, purple heart has strengthened me and fortified me to push through to find the light again.
I am not very good at sewing, but I will make a heart(s) to place out there so others can have the same experience I was graciously afforded in my time of need. THANK YOU!!!!
