On the path leading from the museums to 10th St, I found a heart dangling from a stem. At first, I thought it was an abandoned child’s toy (the path passes a playground. Also, the fabric on the backside is patterned a swirling brown, like it had been played with roughly and then abandoned.) But the message tag caught my eye and I looked up this site and decided to report my good fortune when I got home. There is something beautiful and wild to this material social networking! And unlike the ubiquitous digital version, this networking’s anonymity nourishes the soul and reminds you that actual people are out there seeding love and solidarity (however modest) into the cracks of this exploited, breaking world.
