My story is not that interesting. I was on my almost daily trip to Starbucks. There is an orange construction barrier that has probably been there for two years. As I pass it, I see something colorful on the pylon, so I decided to quickly investigate.
I look at this colorful thing on the orange pylon, and it is a heart. The tag says, “I need a home.” In a split second several thoughts go through my head at once:
*Oh, this is like random acts of crochet kindness, which I have left stuff around for.
*I should leave it for someone who needs it.
*It’s so cute!!!
*Maybe I need it.
*Take it! You can always put it out again.
In mere seconds (12 to be exact, based on the walk indicator), I took the heart with me. I read the story on the website, and I thought, “Maybe I needed this after all.” My week has been more stressful than it usually is.
It lives at my office now, along with my crocheted bee and octopus. I love the little foxes and the porcupine button. Now, my only question is where do I find a heart-shaped hole punch.
Thank you for spreading joy.
