My husband and I drove down to New York City from Canada on July 15th, 2024 for my Birthday to see my favorite Broadway show and meet my favorite author. As usual, we stopped in Rhinebeck for Pizza and Canolli at Village Pizzaria and Restaurant, and Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans from Samuel’s Sweet Shop! I just fell in love with Rhinebeck the first time we visited, so now we always stop on our way to or from NYC, or both! We were walking to get pizza, and I saw this beautiful heart hanging from a bench with a note saying it needed a home. I hesitated to take it, because I thought someone who lived there should have it. But then I read the website, and it said if you find one, it is meant to be yours. And it seemed so fitting, to have this beautiful memory of one of my favorite places, so I took it home with me! Then I started reading about the project and was blown away! It is such a beautiful way to brighten someone’s day! It is beautiful acts of kindness like this that make the world a little brighter. I know my day was brightened, and I’ll always remember my Birthday heart from Rhinebeck.❤️
