Plantagenet, ON Canada

I happened upon this heart hanging from a tree outside the restroom at Jessup’s Falls Conservation Area on August 19, 2023. My girlfriend, Katie, and I were on a 3 week road trip in our converted short bus, Halfpint (see picture). I had shoulder surgery on July 27th and was on 6 weeks of medical leave. My recovery was going great, so we jumped at the opportunity to go on a Canadian adventure. We left Lexington, KY on August 12th headed north to escape the brutal summer temperatures. After spending 3 days in Wiarton (gorgeous!) we decided to visit Prince Edward Island, where my family vacationed when I was too young to remember! We added Montreal and Quebec City as ‘must see’ stops. Our goal on Aug 19th was to find a place to camp close to Montreal for our excursion the following day. We passed through Plantagenet in late evening as we were trying to find a place to park for the night. Unfortunately Jessup’s Falls Conservation Area doesn’t allow overnight parking, but it was time for a pit stop, and that’s when I discovered the heart in the tree. I visited the IFAQH website and was delighted to learn the reason behind the gift. What a great way to send good vibes out to the universe. Bravo! For the rest of our trip, my heart was hanging in the front of our bus. We continued on to Montreal, Quebec City, Grand Manan, Cape Breton, PEI, then back to Kentucky via Maine, and a brief stay at my dad’s place in upstate New York. Amazing trip! We love Canada!
