I was crossing the pedestrian bridge between Shadyside Hospital (where I was grabbing lunch) and Hillman Cancer Center (where my husband was undergoing treatment for squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and neck). The bridge is lined with planters filled with ZZ plants, schefflera, sansevieria, and others. Today, there were gorgeous white phalaenopsis orchids in each planter. I stopped to admire them, and noticed a small zipper bag clothes pinned to a leaf. I thought perhaps someone had lost something, but was delighted to find the quilted heart! As a seamstress and crafter, it was fun to see how someone used their fabric scraps, buttons, appliqués, and a bit of ribbon to brighten another’s day! Thank you for this project!
