I’ve always been a fan of hiking and centering myself in nature. Following a recent divorce, I have been pulling myself out of the depths of depression by hiking in the Wisconsin State Parks. I received a sticker from a loved one and have set myself to the task of getting out to each Wisconsin State Park this year. In my travels I document pivotal moments of when I know that I’ll be OK with photography. I try to capture the moment to the best of my abilities as a reminder that life is fleeting and to stay rooted in the present. I came across this Quilted Heart in Pattison State Park near the Little Manitou Falls. I took a long look at the heart at first in disbelief, not understanding what it was. I then proceeded to bawl my eyes out with tears of happiness. I took a picture and captured a piece of my Peace. It now is kept safe back in my home hanging on the wall as a reminder of the amazing gifts that you might miss if you’re not open to receiving them. Thank you whoever left this heart there, it has meant more to me than I put into words. Know that you are my Hero and I will forever be grateful to you.
