It was the last day of our annual family beach trip. Three generations get together every year and spend a week together in the sun. After saying our goodbyes to the ocean, my grandmother and I were walking back towards the boardwalk when I noticed the quilted heart hanging there along the fence. I’ll treasure this memento of time spent in my favorite place with those I love.
