I found the beautiful Hawaiian heart as I left my mom in Pahoa, Hi at the Mauna Kei Rest stop, Big Island of Hawaii. She has the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease. I don’t know when I will see her again and how far along her disease will progress during our time apart. The heart has always been a sign of comfort for me. I purchase one heart per year to remember a time significant in my life. This heart will be my heart for 2019. Thank you to the very special person who is bringing comfort to me at this difficult time in my and my mom’s life. I will cherish this heart.
