The day after Christmas our family decided to get ice cream after going on a hike. We parked in downtown Nevada City to go to the ice cream shop. On a barren tree next to our vehicle was a heart. When I turned it around I realized it was quilted. It instantly made me think of my Mom who passed away 2 years ago. She had been a quilter since 1987 and among the numerous quilts that she made were quilts for her Grandchildren when they were babies, when they moved to a “big” bed, and when they went off to college. What made it even sweeter was that I found it when we were on our way to get ice cream, her favorite food.
