This was the sixth and final Quilted Heart that my Family found on New Year’s Day!
We had one more delivery of new year gifts to hand out in our neighborhood. The darkness of the evening was already encroaching. But the small amount of glitter in the snowman on this Quilted Heart glistened and for the final time today I called out. “Quilted Heart, Stop the car!”
There clearly must have been some magic in this Quilted Heart I found, for it to show up in the ever deepening darkness of the early evening hours, because when I got out to claim it, it was hard to see how it was attached to the tree. After a short struggle, I freed it from the tree and brought it to the car for the family to examine it. Shortly after arriving home, we put together various braided pipe cleaners to hang and display the now large collection of Quilted Hearts we had somehow stumbled across in just one day. We certainly feel extremely blessed to receive all this love from the people of the local community. It’s been very clear to us that lots of love and effort is put into making these hearts, for people who they don’t know.
Before today, our family had only ever found two hearts, and certainly not on the same day as each other. So it was an astonishing feat to find so many, and so close to home, in just one day. <3
