My husband has been in the hospital for a week now due to Kidney failure and the necessity of performing a third surgery to place a working dialysis catheter in his abdomen.
After being here just 2 short weeks ago for the 2nd catheter placement and experiencing several complications afterwards including its failure, it really brought our spirits down to discover that he in fact would need a third surgery.
While on my way to my husband’s bedside again this morning, something hanging on the handrail of the elevator caught my eye.
At first, I thought it might be something that accidentally got left behind, then I saw its tag stating “I need a home”.
I got curious and picked it up, then realized shortly after what it was…..
……a symbol of support…..
It was so soft, so thoughtful, so beautiful.
A lot of time, love, and care went into making this beautiful act of kindness.
What a selfless human being it had to be that made this.
I never knew that “Quilted Hearts” was a thing, but I’m so glad that it is.
I thought about finding an elderly person and passing it forward to them, and then I thought “you know, this has been a very trying time in our lives. What not take it to my husband as a reminder of God’s promise, grace, blessings, and love as well as a reminder of the beautiful person who poured their soul into bringing a little bit of hope, happiness, and light into other people’s lives.”
This quilted heart has warmed our hearts greatly.
We will hang it in our home with pride and always look upon it with a deep admiration and appreciation for the human being that you are.
To whomever made this beautiful symbol of hope, compassion, and kindness ….
YOU are making a difference!!
You made us cry happy tears today.
From the bottom of our hearts….
THANK YOU!! 🙏🙏
