The most incredible thing happened today… As I was taking a long meditative walk along the hike and bike trail between Pacific Grove and Monterey, I found a quilted heart hanging from a tree… It has a little tag that says “I need a home”. Since my son and I collected heart-shaped rocks when he was little, I immediately texted him a photo of me holding it asking him isn’t this cool? He agreed that it was super special…
I continued my walk toward Monterey thinking about my Nana’s rosebush at the Carmelite monastery and how I’d like to go to mass there tomorrow … as I listened to the sea lions in the background, I was also reminded of how my dad‘s ashes are scattered in the Monterey Bay and just how blessed I was to grow up in such a phenomenal location. At mile 3, I decided to turn around and head back towards PG… Probably about a third of the way back guess what I found… You got it, another heart shaped ornament hanging in a tree with the same tag saying “ I need a home”.. this time with a little red and white checkered cardinal glued to the front. Red Cardinals have always signified lost loved ones to me… It gets better hold on, this long post is almost over, lol. I laid them both down on a bench to take a picture to post for this organization that creates these lovely little gems, and after I took the photo, I looked at the old faded engraving on the bench that states “those we love never leave our hearts”.
I’m just in awe of the beauty, love and significance that surrounds us, if our eyes and hearts are open.
Thank you for not just 1 but 2 special hearts that have found their forever home ❤️❤️
