When I’m in Northern Wisconsin or “Up North” as we say, I like to take what I call “night hikes”. On this particular clear and starry night, I had to walk along a country road to get to the wooded trail that the dogs and I were headed to. We decided to make a stop at the public boat landing at Bear Track Lake to look up at the stars. It was there that we stumbled across the quilted heart that was tacked to a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources sign.
