I found a quilted heart at Beaver Ranch Flats Conservation Project. The heart was on a gate post. This weekend was already special.. it was our 5th wedding anniversary. In the previous month we had our 10 year old dog pass away and also our 15 year old cat and it was with heavy hearts that we were doing our best to enjoy the weekend, staying at the Quilchena Hotel, near Merritt, BC. I am an avid photographer and wanted to stop to take photographs of the yellow-headed black birds. On the way out of the marshland I noticed the beautiful quilted heart and wondered if it was placed for someone else to retrieve. Then I saw “I NEED A HOME” and knew it was a special gift and a reminder for us that love conquers all. The heart was beautifully sewn and had three lovely buttons on it. I am attaching a photograph of my lovely heart and some of Merganser ducks and a loon we saw nearby on Nicola Lake. THANK YOU SO MUCH and I am keeping this heart on my desk as a reminder of the love in the world today.
