I was playing fetch with my dog this morning in a parking lot near my home. And by fetch I mean my dog chases the ball, picks it up, and drops it randomly nearby. I picked up her ball from the gutter and noticed the heart attached to the top of a fiberglass orange & white driveway marker.
The fabric on the left side of the heart reminds me of a favorite coat my mom bought for me many years ago. She also had an habit of adding a small heart next to her signature on letters she sent to me. She passed away at 98 years old, still bright and charming, in November of 2022.
When I got back home and looked up this website, I noticed another post from today about a heart found in Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. My mom was born in Erie and would take us to visit that park every time we visited. Feeling her warm hug from the great beyond.
