I was in California earlier this month to attend a wedding in Loomis. A group of long time friends, all originally from Brooklyn NY ,who had flown in for the wedding, from NY and Florida took a little day trip to Auburn. We strolled the Old Town area visiting shops ,taking pictures and mailing postcards back home ( actually that’s what I did)). We stopped to rest and chat in a little park area in town. As I was reading notices posted on the park’s bulletin board, I noticed the quilted heart, read the attached label, and decided to adopt the heart. I was attracted to the heart because of its handmade and colorful nature. It instantly reminded me of the crochet blankets my wife makes for hospitalized children through the “We Care Blankets” organization here on Long Island. My wife shows her love and concern for others through her crochet work just as the Quilted Hearts do in their way. That I found the Heart on the day of the wedding ,two events tied to love and concern for others ,surely was not just chance. The universe works in wondrous ways. The Quilted Heart now hangs on the door to my bedroom armoire where we see it every day.
