Wow … I received a very precious gift this morning, while walking through a quaint neighborhood in Long Beach!
Something bright and colorful caught my eye, which I initially assumed was a piece of fabric caught on a metal fence post.
However, as I approached, I soon realized it was actually a handmade quilted heart! After gently lifting it from the post, I found a handwritten note pinned to it, with the message: “I need a home! I was made for you.” Also sewn on was a tiny charm, stating, “You are loved!”
Tears of happiness flowed down my face, for quite a while! The idea that some random stranger created this special gift out of kindness … simply for another stranger to find — is just mind-boggling!
Still mourning the loss of three loved ones who recently passed away within a few weeks of each other, I apparently was meant to receive this sweet little heart TODAY — I just didn’t realize how much I needed it until we came across one another! It truly brightens my day. Such a blessing!
To whomever provided me with this precious gift, you have touched my heart. I will carry on the tradition by creating a heart for another person to find. Hopefully, he or she will experience the same joy that I have felt today.
