I found my quilted heart outside an Aldi grocery store in Lebanon, TN on Dec 15, 2022. I had originally planned on going to Aldi on Dec 14th but had a very unusual experience happen. I never got to grocery shop on Dec 14th because I saw a young man in a wheelchair in the parking lot across from Aldi. The man was all by himself moving very slowly across the parking lot. It was a chilly day. For some reason, instead of turning into Aldi I went to this man and talked with him. Make a long story short, it was 11:00am and he was on his way (in his manual wheelchair) to an interview at 2:00pm. His interview was several miles away from where we were at the time. My heart was overwhelmed with compassion for this young man. I loaded him into my van, took him to his interview and bought him lunch. His interview went well but sadly he was not hired because there was not a job at that place that he could do in a wheelchair. I have since attempted to get him in contact with an agency that helps people with disabilities find a job. After his interview, I took him back close to the location where I originally met him and dropped him off. I left him with a smile but broke down crying as soon as I left. Needless to say, I made my second attempt to go back to Aldi to grocery shop on 12/15 and that is when I found my quilted heart. I truly feel like it was Gods way of saying to me “Thanks for trying to help the young man yesterday.” I have prayed for safety, health and happiness for him multiple times since meeting him. I have awoken multiple times in the middle of the night with this young man still on my mind. He is 28 and his name is James L. Would you please lift him up in your prayers too? Please pray that the world is kind to him, helps him find a job and makes sure he has a safe place to live. May God Bless the person who made my quilted heart and James L as well.
Thank you for the quilted heart!! I hope to make my own quilted hearts soon to share.
