Lake Nockamixon, PA USA

My hubby and I were hiking Lake Nockamixon in December (2024). Back at home, we had a Christmas tree, but for various reasons, it had no decorations that year. I had purchased a box of candy canes at the dollar store, then a package of small red apple ornaments at a thrift store, all of which we used to adorned our naked tree. It was somewhat of a pitiful sight, but it was the best we could do for this particular time.

It so happened that while we were at the lake, we stopped at an old millstone that lies on the ground near the old dam. Inside the millstone was this forlorn heart semi-covered by dead leaves. I plucked it out, brushed it off, and saw what it was. Joy filled my heart. I tucked it into the pocket of my parka.

When we got home, I hung it on the tree! (Lovely!)

Thank you to whomever left this quilted heart there in the millstone.
