I found my quilted heart on the evening of 5.24.23 while walking on a trail in Kent, OH. The past several months has been difficult for me as I was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Feeling a little sad during my walk alone, I kept my head down the majority of the time. By chance on my way walking back to my car, I looked up for a split second to have my eyes meet a blue heart hanging on the fence lining the trail. I was a little shocked and caught off guard because it looked out of place. I picked it up, looked around the path to see no one was around, then preceded to visited the website mentioned on the tag. I read, “Small quilted hearts around the globe to brighten the day of a stranger.” My eyes immediately swelled with tears while my heart filled with joy and hope. Two things I desperately need at this point in my cancer journey. I feel like I was really meant to find this heart so it could touch mine.
