I found my heart while on a sort of spiritual hike in Kauai.
My family took a quick trip to Shipwreck Island to see the beach and play in the ocean. On a whim, I decided to check out the hiking trail up to a cliff nearby, all alone. It was the only hour I spent without my family on our whole 7 day trip.
I hiked up to the top of the cliff and spent some time exploring and just being alone, recentering myself, and enjoying the beauty of nature and the sounds of the ocean below me. It was incredible. On my way back down to the beach, I was staring intently at the ground. I was wearing flip flops and the footing was slippery – pine needles covering rocks.
I remember thinking “look up or you will miss it.” How weird!! The heart was just hanging there, waiting for me. To say this made me happy is an understatement. My heart is currently hanging in my office and every time I see it, I think of my spontaneous hike. Thank you to whomever left it in that tree. I will remember it forever!
