I am on vacation with my family in Lancaster County, PA for the week. When visiting a popular tourist attraction (Kitchen Kettle Village), I happened upon this beautiful quilted heart today (8/22/2024). It was a beautiful sunny day with cool breezes and I was enjoying my time shopping at the many stores. After buying some kettle corn, I sat down at a nearby table and saw the little heart sitting there in a small, clear protective plastic package. At first I thought it was a purchase that someone lost or left behind accidentally. I looked around for someone to claim it but no one did. When I looked closer I saw the tag that read “I need a home”. I was pleasantly surprised and decided to listen to the heart’s message to take it with me to give it a good home.
I was so delighted to find this little heart! When I told my husband about finding the heart he said that he felt it was sent to me by my father who passed away suddenly on August 7th. This made me smile and cry as I didn’t get to say goodbye to my father before he passed. I feel that God placed this heart in my path today as a reminder of my father’s love for me. This quilted heart will be well cared for and will always hold a special place in my heart for many years to come. Thanks to the person who made the heart and the creators of this project for spreading love in this world “one heart at a time”. This small act of kindness has blessed me more than you could ever know.
