I had never heard of #IFAQH, but here we are.
There has been SO MUCH going on in my life lately, I’ve not had the motivation to stop and smell the flowers. Yesterday I was short with my young son and felt some guilt that he was stuck inside on a rainy day with me balancing home, work, personal, etc. So today I made myself accountable and found time to be present with him. He wanted to go swimming at the local lake to soak up the last days of summer. We had McDonald’s on the beach, we had a swim, we put the electronics away.
He saw the nearby playground when we were leaving and said he wished we had time to play there to. To be honest, we had the time, it was just me being in a hurry, like usual. So I looped around, parked the truck, walked my butt up the hill, and there on the bench was exactly the encouragement I needed to stop and smell the flowers. My son wants to take it home to remember the fun day. So sincerely, thank you to the person who left the perfect reminder. ♡
