This heart’s ribbon was looped around the cigarette butt station at Hotel Rapids in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I found it just outside my motel room after a sunny, beautiful day’s drive–part of my journey home after burying my mum’s ashes in Saskatchewan. One of my favourite colours is turquoise and I like to think this little heart was waiting just for me… she’d been outside for a while. My trip was all about love, so this was meant to be.
