Gouldsboro, PA USA

On the spur of the moment, last Sunday, my husband wanted to go for a walk to the back of Gouldsboro State Park. He said it wasn’t too far of a walk. I agreed even though it was in the 80’s and 100 percent humidity! He forgot the map in the truck. As we were walking we did pass a few people, notably 3 women. One was having a shoe problem. The Three Sisters?? We walked to a “T”, made a left and to head to the back of the lake (we thought). As we were going down the trail, we saw a pretty heart hanging from a tree branch. Figured I would leave it for the next person. Then further down we came across another one. Thought it was a sign and decided to take it home. After walking what seemed like forever we came to water crossing the trail and couldn’t go any further without getting wet. There was a reference to the African Queen, if you’ve ever seen the movie you’d get it. We turned around to walk back, uphill most of the way. By the time we got to the turn I was soaking wet and not a happy camper. More uphill, but we did see a bear and 2 tiny cubs. Cheered me up. I was trying to tie my hair up and must have dropped the heart on the trail. I was disappointed but too overheated to go back for it. My husband said he would go. I went to the truck. Awhile later my husband showed up with the heart. While I was waiting for him, I looked at the map. We were on the wrong trail! Another reference was made to Moses! So now I have this pretty little heart and a story to tell. Thank you for putting a bright spot in the world. Sure need it these days
