My husband and I visited the Maryhill Stonehenge War Memorial on February 18, 2025 and that’s where we found our heart! We live in Curtin, Oregon and I had planned a trip to the Columbia River Gorge as a gift to my husband for his birthday. We traveled up the Gorge from Portland and the Maryhill Stonehenge was our last stop before turning around and heading back towards Portland. I hesitated to take the heart, because I didn’t want to have all the fun, but that day there was no one else at the memorial. We have two daughters (3 and 13) who love the heart and the story behind it. It hangs in our kitchen now, as a reminder that there are pleasant surprises everywhere if you’re just willing to explore.
