Our family went on a walk to clear our minds and get some fresh air. We found the heart near the little free library on the ground. It had rained pretty badly the days prior with lots of wind, so maybe it was tucked into some branches before?
My kids and me just escaped domestic Violence and all of us are struggling and feeling like we are not enough. Looking at that little heart on the ground, made me realize, that we may be down, but we are still beautiful, worthy of love and enough. We picked it up and brought it home. It is now clean and dry and hanging in our dining room.
How interesting that it has a beautiful elephant on it, which represents love and memories, as well as a bird charm, which I look at as rebirth and rising…
Whoever made it and put it there, knew exactly what we needed that day. I still tear up every time I look at the heart.
