Found! In Encinitas, California hanging on a fence overlooking the magnificent ocean. This heart was a very welcome hello before what would come a tough goodbye. A relic to remember an amazing few days spent in California visiting someone I love. A guy who I had met while working at a ski mountain. We’ve had our fair share of grand quests from touring up mountains, to road-tripping in a U-Haul named Chloe, to surfing and eating street tacos in Mexico. Our lives which have aligned so well for the winter are splitting off due to jobs, travel, and life. This trip was a last-minute adventure, pulled together with a bundle of excitement, a pair of lost keys, and loose set plans. It’s the way we operate, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Finding this heart was so special, not only because of the bright sunny colors that I love so much but because of the company I had when it was found. It brought smiles to both of our faces and it will be something I hold onto closely forever. A reminder that it’s the little and simplest things that can bring us the most joy. My time in California was so special, spent surfing, laughing, eating pasta, and visiting Petco Park. I can’t wait to go back already, and next time I do I will remember the yellow heart found by the ocean.
To me this heart represents loving hard, respecting your inner wild spirit, and trusting that everything will work out. Goodbyes are hard, but they leave room for some great hellos.
In the end we know nothing, so love everything.
