I found my quilted heart in the Women’s Locker Room of the Downtown Davenport (Bittner) YMCA on a cold February night. It had been, and would continue to be a rough few months. I loved the detail and the sweetness of finding a soft heart that someone had touched with their hands and used their creativity and time to create and were willing to share with a stranger. It hangs on the wall behind my desk in my classroom along with a heart a student made me years ago. I am sharing the project with another teacher for her students to work on.
