This heart was hanging on a tree limb in front of my car when my best friend and I finished our walk at Saluda Shoals Park.
Chief just turned 10, and I’ll be 40 this summer. I find in the last couple years I’ve been especially homesick for a time when everyone and everything I love was alive, well, and we were together. The feelings of sadness had started to creep in during our walk in spite of the fact I was so very thankful to have that time with my special dog.
I like to think this heart was a hug from those I miss. Thank you for brightening my spirit!
