It’s hard to believe it’s been 11 years since I Found A Quilted Heart (IFAQH) was born, a little project started by three sisters with a passion for spreading kindness. Today, we’re not only reflecting on the incredible journey so far, but also welcoming the new year with a heart full of gratitude and excitement for what’s to come.
From the very beginning, our mission was simple: to create a ripple effect of kindness one quilted heart at a time. What started as a few stitched hearts hidden in our local towns has grown into a worldwide movement—thanks to YOU, our amazing community. Over the past decade, we’ve seen the heartwarming impact of this project unfold in ways we never imagined. From small acts of kindness to grand gestures of love, each heart that has been found carries a story many have shared their story of joy, of hope, and connection. The small hearts have touched lives, lifted spirits, and sparked smiles in people from all walks of life.
As we celebrate this milestone, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has contributed to this community. Whether you’ve sewn a heart, found one, or simply shared the message, you’ve made this journey possible. You are the reason so many people have been touched by finding a heart all around the world! We are excited for the future of I Found A Quilted Heart. We will continue our sister’s trips, we lovingly call “heart sowing adventures,” where we find the least expensive flight, book hotels, map out our route and leave hundreds of hearts in a public place for a random stranger to find. Our sister time is special, and IFAQH has given us a bond that brings us great joy, IFAQH has certainly blessed us. Leaving a heart in a public place a simple act, but one that has a profound impact—reminding people that kindness is always within reach, no matter where they are.
While we love hearing how these hearts bring joy all around the world; we do have a few guidelines for where and how to leave them. Whether you have been with IFAQH for many years, or brand new, please, please, please check our rules again for heart placement to ensure that we keep spreading kindness in approved public places. If a heart is reported as found in a place that is unapproved, we will not post to the website.
Whether you’re sewing, sowing, or just spreading the word, we thank you for being a part of this incredible journey of IFAQH. Here’s to many more years of kindness, connection, and spreading joy—one quilted heart at a time.
With love and gratitude,
The Three Sisters of I Found A Quilted Heart
