Bancroft, MI USA

My husband and I flew up to Kalamazoo, MI from San Antonio, TX to spend time with my mom and dad. My dad has had a long seven months of trying to recover from a severe stroke while having parkingsons, and was declining during his recent hospital visit. Dad was released on Tuesday and passed away yesterday at home. So today, my husband and I drove my mom two hours away to Bancroft, MI to visit my brother’s grave in the Fremont Cemetery. (He passed in 2009.) The last time my parent’s visited my brother’s grave, my mom noticed that the caretaker had chopped down the tree right next to my brother’s grave because it was diseased. (My brother’s wish was to be buried under a tree.). So, my mom had went to the caretaker’s house to request they plant another tree. Fast forward to our visit today and they did plant another tree. I found the quilted heart in the tree right next to my brother’s grave. Thank you to whoever made and put this heart in the tree next to my brother’s grave stone (which is a bench). It was a sweet gesture and comforting to us.
