Our neighborhood has a little tree that is shaped like a bonzi tree. I started saying good morning to it when I would walk my pup Theodorkable aka Theolarious. The neighbor that lived close to the tree would see this and it became a superstition for me to chat with the tree. A whole lot of crazy, right? Well, my mom became very ill and so my morning walks would turn into crying sessions and I would bump into Melinda (the neighbor by the tree) and update her on my mom. Next thing I know there is a ribbon placed on the tree that reads FRIENDS. I have never been so touched by a single gesture. She said she knew I needed a smile. Now the little tree is filled with ribbons that neighbors have left for a variety of reasons. Passing of a pet, receiving an accounting degree, thoughts of healing the ill etc. Unfortunately, our pups passed and also have ribbons. The other day I saw this heart and felt the power of a single gesture once again. My mom has made it through the toughest of odds and celebrated her 87th birthday. Small gestures, BIG results. If you left that heart and are reading my note, keep going!!! What a difference you made for me. Now that I see I can take it off, it will be on its way to stay with my MOM! And yes, I am going to begin to make quilted hearts. Love to all 💜
