I am a warrior! I try, I fight, I struggle every day to fight my battles with my illnesses that have taken over my life. For my 50th birthday I went to Yosemite, for my upcoming 60th (July 8th) my husband and I went to Mammoth and Tahoe. I can only sit on the rocks, benches, in the car while he does things. While at Walker’s River, I fought the fatigue to get out a bit and go find a place to sit.

I SAW IT! I thought it was a Christmas ornament on the tree. I took a few extra steps with my cane, and I saw a beautiful yellow heart with blue ribbon. I snapped some photos but it said: “I need a home”, so I plucked it down and put it in my camera case. Yellow is my favorite color so I was thrilled by the color. When we came home from the trip, I looked up this website and was so touched by the project.

To the wonderful person who took the time to make the heart, place it for me to find it – thank you from the bottom of MY heart. An extra effort by me (despite my fatigue) was meant to be so I could find my Warrior’s Heart. I have it hanging by my bed, the first thing I see every day. A reminder to keep taking those extra steps, try a little bit more because the reward is waiting is for you around the corner.
